Dear SPCA of Connecticut Adopters, Donors & Volunteers
With the start 2012 underway and a lot of activities occurring at our Monroe facility, I would like to briefly update you about some important events at the SPCA of Connecticut. First, I would like to thank you for your continuing support. Because of your efforts, we have placed over 8000 pets during the last twelve years. These pets arrived at our facility from shelters in Connecticut, New York as well as many other states.
While the SPCA of Connecticut is now operating in its 13th year and continues to rescue and care for numerous pets, we recently have met a roadblock that will limit the number of dogs that can reside at our Monroe location. As you may know, the Town of Monroe has unfortunately re-zoned our address that will force us to limit our dog population to specifically no more than 29 dogs. (Limits do not apply to other pets).
As we have limited resources, we are moving ahead to create new relationships and partnerships with interested organizations that can assist us as we continue to grow throughout Connecticut and expand our adoption and related services.
With our organization’s mission always in the forefront, I would like to invite you to make a point of visiting our facility in the coming months or call or email me so I can update you further about the SPCA of Connecticut. We’ve assembled a great group of volunteers over the years. Now, we are hoping your financial support will continue in 2012 as the SPCA of Connecticut moves ahead to expand its services to rescue needy dogs and cats. During these challenging economic times as pet food and maintenance costs keep on rising, your financial support is even more meaningful to our needy puppies, kittens, dogs and cats.
Thank you in advance for your generous help and financial support!
Sincerely,
Frederick Acker
